Honourable Justice Waziri Abali

Justice Abali was born on 1st May, 1960 at Potiskum, Yobe State to the family of late Abali Mohammadu Idris, father and Adama Umaru Bubaram, Mother. He is married with Children.

He attended Shehu Garbai Primary School, Maiduguri from 1966 to 1972; Barewa College Zaria from 1972 to 1977 and the Federal School of Arts and Science, Mubi from 1978 to 1979 for WASC. Thereafter, he attended the University of Sokoto from 1979 to 1982 for pre-degree in Law. He was admitted into the University of Maiduguri in 1984 and graduated with LL.B. he was called to the Bar in 1990.

Mr. Abali performed his NYSC primary assignment at Amuka Lawal & Co. Law firm, 10 Kashim Ibrahim Street, Jos in the 1991/92 service year. He started his working career in 1993 with Baaba & Co. Solicitor & Advocators, Mohd Idris Way, Potiskum. He joined Yobe State Judiciary, Damaturu in 1996 as Senior Magistrate I. he was promoted to Chief Magistrate II in 2002 and Chief Magistrate I in 2004 to oversee the Chief Magistrate Court at Gashua. Between 2004 and 2006, he was Deputy Chief Registrar, Administration at the Customary Court of Appeal, FCT Judiciary, Abuja and Acting Chief Registrar from 2006 to 2007.

Between June 2007 and January 2013, He was the Chief Registrar of the Court; after which he assumed the position of registrar General, ADR Centre till his judicial appointment. He has attended several workshops for Magistrates. He is a member of the Abuja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association.
