Hon. Justice O. Y. Anuwe

Justice Olufunke Yemi Anuwe was born on 29th March, 1964 at Magongo in Ogori Mangongo LGA of Kogi State to the family of Paul Orifunmishe, father and Victoria Oriufunmishe, mother. She is married with children.


Justice Anuwe attended Christ the King Catholic Primary School, Okene from 1968 to 1973 for FSLC, and Community Secondary School, Ogaminana-Okene from 1974 to 1980 for WASC. She was admitted into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1983 and obtained LLB in 1986. She was called to Bar in 1987. She also obtained LLM in 2006 from University of Jos.


Justice Anuwe performed her NYSC primary assignment at IBM Haruna and Company Chambers, Kalapanzin Avenue, Kaduna in the 1987/88 service year. She worked with Orifunmishe and Company Solicitors, Suleja from 1988 to 1990 as Junior Counsel, Orifunmishe and Co. Solicitors, Okene from 1990 to 1995 as Associate Partner and was Head of Chambers/Partner at Orifunmishe and Co Solicitors, Abuja from 1995 to 2001. She then joined the Industrial Training Fund, Jos, where she worked as Senior Legal Officer from 2001 to 2006. 


She moved to the National Industrial Court, Abuja in 2006 as Assistant Chief Registrar; from which position she was appointed a Judge of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria in  May 2013.


She has written several articles on Labour and Industrial Relations. A Chartered Secretary and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators UK, Justice Anuwe is a member of various professional bodies like NBA, IBA, ICSAN, NIM and the London Court of Industrial Arbitrators (LCIA). She has attended various courses, workshops and seminars in USA, UK, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago on Labour and Industrial Relations.
