The remains of Rivers State Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, late Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma(SAN) has been buried today Saturday 15th September, 2018 at Ogbu-nu-Abali in Port Harcourt.
The late Attorney General, who was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was born on April 21, 1961. Late Aguma died after a brief illness in a London hospital on Friday 10th August 2018.
The activities for the final interment of the late commissioner started last Wednesday, 12th Sept. 2018 with a public lecture titled, “The Rule of Law and Leadership in Nigeria’s Democracy, The Role of Attorney General”.
The deceased, late Emmanuel Aguma(SAN) was an epitome of humility, hard work, honesty, diligence and compassion.
President of the National Industrial Court, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adejumo, OFR led other judges of the court, Hon. Justice B. B. Kanyip, Hon. Justice M. A. Namtari; Hon. Justice Polycarp I. Hamman and other principal officers to pay last respect to the deceased.
As part of the activities, Valedictory Court session held at the state High Court Complex, Port Harcourt today.
The event witnessed the presence of heavyweight Law Lords, Royal fathers, sympathizers, members of the Bar, friend and associates.
Other dignitaries present were the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and Former Executive Governor of Anambra state, Peter obi and many others also graced the occasion.
The eulogies and testimonies for the Late Attorney General who died at the age of 57 years, showed that he was a man of uncommon courage.
In his tribute message, His Lordship, Hon. Justice B. A. Adejumo OFR described the late Chief Law Officer as a man of noble birth, great humility; loving, peaceful, and a gentleman to the core.
Furthermore, His Lordship also encouraged River State and the entire family to find comfort in the fact that Late Hon. Emmanuel Aguma has departed this sinful world to be with the Lord.
Justice Adejumo prayed that God will grant all the fortitude to bear the irretrievable loss.
