From Prosecutor to the Bench: Synopsis of Justice Kado’s profile [Read!]

His Lordship, Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado hails from Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State, North-West Nigeria, attended Sararin Kuka Primary School, Katsina for Primary School Leaving Certificate, Government Day Secondary School, Kofar Yandaka, Katsina for General Certificate of Education GCE.


My Lord studied Law at the then University of Sokoto now Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto and graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons.) and thereafter attended Nigeria Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos for one year mandatory professional course and was called to the Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1991.


Justice Sanusi Kado performed the mandatory National Youth Service with the defunct Savannah Bank of Nigeria, Wuse Branch of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. 


Quintessentially, to be fully acquainted with Law, Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado obtained Master of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in Kaduna State.


Justice Kado started his legal career as a legal officer at the Federal Ministry of Justice and rose to the rank of Assistant Chief Legal Officer. 


While at the Federal Ministry of Justice Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado, served at various times as Assistant Legal Adviser in Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Federal Ministry of Power and Steel and Federal Ministry of Environment.


As the reward for brilliance and hardwork is more work, in the year 2001; Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado was posted to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, (ICPC) as one of the pioneer Prosecutors of the Commission. 


Due to his dint of hard work, apart from his prosecutorial duties, he was appointed as the Head of Fast Track Investigation Team under the office of the Chairman of the Commission.


In the year 2006, Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado joined the service of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria as an Assistant Chief Registrar and later became Deputy Chief Registrar, the position he was until his elevation to the Bench as a Judge of the Court in 2017 and was sworn-in by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Walter Onnoghen.


Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado profile is of excellence, brilliance, humility, patriotism, honesty, hard work, resilience, loyalty and doggedness.


My Lord, Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado has attended training both home and abroad, happily married and blessed with children.
