Proposed Legislation: Justice Ogbuanya honours National Assembly invitation as guest speaker

The Distinguished Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content Development, Senator Teslim Folarin OFR and the Hon. Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo will host 2-day virtual summit on the proposed Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry (Amendment) Bill 2020, Nigerian Local Content Development and Enforcement Bill 2020 and Nigerian Local Content Development and Enforcement Commission Bill 2020 scheduled for Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September 2020.


The Hon. Judge of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Port Harcourt Judicial division, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Nelson Ogbuanya has been invited by the committees to deliver an expert presentation on Building Institutions and Ensuring Compliance, Transparency, Accountability and High Performance.


The summit is being hosted as part of the pre-public hearing stakeholders' engagement process, to obtain stakeholders buy-in and input into proposed legislations that seek to introduce the principles of local and indigenous content development into other sectors of the Nigerian economy and to further expand the scope of Nigerian participation in the oil and gas industry.

  

The summit will review the proposed legislations and obtain suggestions and further inputs from stakeholders to ensure that the Bills when passed are sufficiently representative of the views and opinions of stakeholders in the economy.
